All the SAS cards!

I figured I'd go ahead and post all the cards we did at the Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. Maybe that way you'll really want to come to the next one and join the fun! ;-)

None of them are elaborate because the goal is to finish 16 cards and envies in under 3 hours. I also provided 3 "bonus" cards that participants could choose to do for $1/each. They could do as many as they wanted of these 3 cards. (Only 2 are in the photo below)

The 4 cards included in the SAS are the red/green/kraft Christmas, stockings, snowflakes, and Merry Christmas. I CASEd the snowflake card from Heather Scott, and the red/green/kraft one is CASEd from a swap I received from Diana Maldonado. I changed them up just a tiny bit, but these two gals get credit for the ideas!

Here's a close-up of the reindeer "peek-a-boo" card. I wasn't thrilled with the big blob of white ink I got on the front when I was inking the card, but, oh well...I like the idea of the card.

All stamps are current sets from The Angel Company (TAC), and all supplies are TAC as well. If you have any questions, let me know!

Stamp-a-Stack

Here is the full photo of the sneak peek I posted the other day. We had a really fun SAS! I always ask everybody what their favorite card is, and this one tied with the next one (Holly Swirls) for the fave! The stocking card above is "my own" creation, and the holly card below is an adaptation (CASE) from Tonya's card here.

Another Baby Card

Wow! This photo makes the card look really crooked!!! It is straight--I promise you. The two off-white papers are also much closer to the same color in real life! :-)

It's another baby card I made, and I used not-so-traditional colors. The base is ivory, then the other colors are coral, brown and green. Again, I colored using the technique I've been trying with Bic and Sharpie markers. Enjoy!

Stamps: All Occasion Celebrations (retired), Linear Sentiments
Ink: Burnt Umber, Boudoir and Noir Palettes
Paper: Ivory Ultrasmooth, Bazzill Reds, watercolor paper
Other: Bic and Sharpie Markers, Gray Tombow Marker, Hydra-Sponge, Corner Rounder, ribbon

Oh, Baby!

I've been making baby cards--lots of them! Two different friends needed baby cards, and one wanted 8 to use on the nursing unit where she works. So...I've been playing with a coloring technique on some of them and I'll show you two of those.

Megan, an Angel friend, posted a blog entry and link to a video tutorial on how to use Bic Markers and Sharpies instead of Copics. I decided to give it a whirl and have been playing with them for a while. The green card is sort of "non-traditional" because it's bright green instead of all pastel in pink and blue and yellow. I'm pleased with the results for my newbie efforts.

Later I'll show you more... Be sure to come back for those! :-)

Stamps: Bitty Babies (retired)
Ink: Noir and Giverney Green Palettes
Paper: Apple Green #2, Golden Yellow #2, Tutti Frutti SWIC, watercolor paper
Other: Bic and Sharpie Markers, Skin Tone Pencils, Tombow Blending Pen, Gray Tombow Marker, Prisma Colored Pencils, Button Brads, 1/2" inch Circle Punch, Pop Dots

Stamps: Bitty Babies (retired)
Ink: Burnt Umber Palette
Paper: Ivory Ultrasmooth, Bazzill Pinks & Red Violets, Bazzill Browns, watercolor paper
Other: Bic and Sharpie Markers, Gray Tombow Marker, Souflee Pens, Super Jumbo Oval Punch, Mega Scalloped Oval Punch, Hydra Sponge, Pink and Brown Scrapper's Floss, Paper Piercer (for curling Floss), ribbon

Masculine Ship Collage

I haven't had a lot of time to be terribly creative lately, so I'm going to post another card from a while back. This was one I used for a "Masculine" card swap and also for a class I had for "masculine cards." Those seem to be so tough sometimes, that I might just cover that theme again at stamp class!

It's hard to see in this picture, but only the image on the tag is colored as a spot technique. It is also raised with a Pop Dot.

Stamps: Ship Collage

Ink: Burnt Umberand Seascape Palettes

Paper: Aspen, Kraft, Bazzill Blues

Other: Edge Distressor, Tombow markers, paintbrush, Mega Tag Punch, Corner Rounder, Antique Spiral Clip, jute, rubber bands, acrylic block, Pop Dots

Note: Wrap an acrylic dot with various sizes and widths of rubber bands both horizontally and vertically. Allow them to twist. This becomes the "stamp" for the background, using first Seascape then Burnt Umber inks. When using Tombows, scripple onto an acrylic block to create a "palette," then use a tiny paintbrush dipped in water to pick up color and "paint" the image.

Resist with Walnut Ink

Here's a card we did in class back in June. I'm getting ready to send it to someone, so I figured I'd take a photo and post it.

Stamps: Tip Toe (retired) and Be Authentic (retired)

Ink: Noir Palette, Willow Walnut Ink, Versamark

Paper: Ivory Ultrasmooth, Cha Cha Cardstock, Bazzill Yellow Greens

Other: Edge Distressor, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Note: We used Willow Walnut Ink two different ways--spritzing it and with the sponge applicator top. The fern was stamped with Versamark and embossed in white embossing powder BEFORE going over the paper with the Walnut Ink (using sponge applicator). We then turned the piece upside down and pressed onto scratch paper to get the Walnut Ink off the white embossed fern.

Penelope

This is one of the cards we did at my August Stamping Class. I CASEd Diana Maldonado--The Memory Crafter, using this card of hers. Don't you just love the rich jewel tones of Penelope paper?!?! :-)

I used TAC's two flower punches and a Paper Posie where she used other flowers. I changed the cardstock color and used Violette ink instead. Enjoy it, and check out her blog too! She does great stuff!

Stamps: Linear Sentiments

Ink: Violette Palette

Paper: White Ultrasmooth, Penelope SWIC and Cardstock

Other: Extra Jumbo Flower Punch, Super Jumbo Flower Punch, White Paper Posie, Hydra Sponge (see note below), Glue Dots

Note: To give the white flower a hint of Violette, I used the sponge. To barely ink the edges of the card, I used the ink pad directly (DTP). To give the flowers some depth, I wadded them up in my had and then flattened them again. I used the ink DTP on the largest flower so it would pick up ink on the crinkled parts of the flower.

Spring Flowers & Seminar Swap

I've been going thru some of my cards from previous months and decided to post some.

Stamps: Spring Flowers

Ink: Burnt Umber Palette, Key Lime Versamagic

Paper: Ivory Ultrasmooth, Mimi SWIC and Cardstock, Brown Cardstock

Other: Colored Pencils, Mimi Ribbon, Brown Scrapper's Floss, Amelia Hardware, Crop-a-dile, Glue Dots, Paper Piercer (see note below)

Note: To get the Scrapper's Floss so curly, twist it around a Paper Piercer
=======================

The top card in the photo below was my Seminar Swap in June. Then, I stepped it up a notch.

Stamps: Cute Curliques, Birthday Wishes

Ink: Iris Palette

Paper: White Ultrasmooth, Purple #2

Other: Hydra Sponge, Scor-Pal, Sanding Block, White Floral, Crystal Brad, Glue Dots

Note: To achieve the white horizontal lines, score with Scor-Pal then sand lightly.
