SpecTACular Night sneak peek! Wanna come?

Here is one of the cards that we'll be making tomorrow night at my SpecTACular Night! There will be four make-n-takes, and this is the most involved. I decided to go "all out" for this one--designer paper, hardware, ribbon and Scrapper's Floss, coloring with chalk and Dove Blenders, a touch of Souffle Pen. I love the final result and hope you do too! Don't you wish you were coming?!?!? ;-)

Stamps: Everyday Events

Ink: Burnt Umber Palette

Paper: Angelee, Cardstock from Angelee and Juliette

Other: Hydra-Sponge, 1/2" Circle Punch (on corners), Super Jumbo Oval Punch, Mega Scalloped Oval Punch, Antique Round Loop and brad, Crop-a-dile, ribbon, Scrapper's Floss in tan, brown, lavender and pink, paper piercer (to wrap floss), Earth Tones Chalk Kit and Dove Blender, pink Souffle Pen (center of flowers)

Anniversary Card

Here's a card I did for a swap a while back. Thought you might like to see the technique. I used drywall tape from the hardware department of Wal-Mart and placed it on the cardstock. (It's kind of sticky so you won't want to press too hard--just hard enough for it to stay in place.) I used a Hydra-Sponge to lightly ink the area I had just "taped." When I had the coverage I wanted, I carefully pulled the tape off and was left with the fun texture/pattern shown above.

Stamps: Fancy Punctuation, More Elegant Sentiments
Ink: Versamagic Perfect Plumeria
Paper: Birch, Mulberry Meadow (retired--could use Amelia or Penelope)
Other: Edge Distresser, Hydra-Sponge, Pewter Eyelets and Crop-a-dile

Boy Cards

My friend Jean orders cards from me fairly often. Because she has an 8-yr-old son, she needs cards for him to give. Here are a few that I made up last time she ordered. She liked them, and I hope you do too!

Stamps: Girlz & Boyz
Ink: Noir and Starry Night Palettes

Paper: Blue Bazzill , White Ultrasmooth, Kaleidoscope Boyz

Other: Watercolor Pencils with Dove Blender, Gray Tombow, Photo Turns, Brads

This was a fun one, and Jean's family is big on baseball. What a fun set!

Stamps: You're a Winner, Running Stitches

Ink: Noir, Moulin Rouge and Cognac Palettes
Paper: Scarlet, Ivory Ultrasmooth
Other: Watercolor Pencils with Dove Blender, Gray Tombow

Note: I used a Stipple Brush to apply the Cognac ink to make it look like a dirty baseball. I also bent the Running Stitches Stamp to make it look like stitching on a baseball. That's the joy of unmounted stamps! Woo Hoo!

Flamingo Birthday

I've got a great friend who always sends me funny birthday cards. When I made her card the other day, I knew that a serious, sappy card just wouldn't do. Here's what I came up with. (Inside it says, "Work it girl.")

The flamingo is from our returning set called "Tickled Pink." The background flowers were stamped using the new "Build-a-Flower" and the sentiment is from our new set "Linear Sentiments." I just cut off and used part of the strip. This is a VERY versatile set!

I also used a paper flower from the Hillary Embellishment Jar--gotta love that jar of embellies--and the Polo Glitter Brad adds just the right touch to this glamour gal!

After I paper pierced, I decided to round two corners. Don't really like the effect in the upper left. Next time, I'll have to round and THEN pierce. LOL Live and learn...

Club MED swap

In honor of my friend, Jennifer, I'm posting a photo of one of my creations. Last night at my team meeting of Smilin' Stampers, she said she wanted to see me post pix of things I've been working on. So, here is my Club MED swap. What is a Club MED swap, some of you may ask? When I went to Seminar, The Angel Company's national convention, I went to a special luncheon for Managers, Executives and Directors (I'm a Manager). We make "props" to swap. This is what I took...

Here's a close-up of the bow I put on the outside of the package. Everything was from our Juliette paper collection. I used TAC's Essential Elements for the letters (with Versamagic ink) and Bitty Blossoms for the flowers.
